Camp Freeland Leslie (CFL) is located near Oxford, Wisconsin, approximately 25 miles northeast of the Wisconsin Dells. The camp offers a variety of natural settings: pine forests, prairies, swamp, abundant wildlife and a beautiful lake entirely on the property. Lake Emrick is a unique natural resource and is one of the cleanest in Wisconsin. The camp was purchased by the former Du Page Area Council in 1970. Camp Freeland Leslie was first used as a summer camp in 1972.
Camp Freeland Leslie is a premier patrol method summer camp designed to help strengthen the patrols within your unit. The 500 acre property allows for a wide variety of Scouting opportunities sure to meet the interests of the newest camper as well as the experienced older Scouts in your unit. CFL offers a full complement of merit badges, outpost opportunities, first year camper program, a COPE course, high adventure programs and much more. One of the highlights of the summer camp program is the Friday night event featuring a camp wide pig roast.

New improvements to the facilities are constantly being made to improve Camp Freeland Leslie. A beautiful new nature center and lakefront observation deck was constructed for the 2005 camping season. Construction of a new shower facility was completed in 2006 which provides private and modern shower and restroom facilities. 2007 saw the completion of a handicapped accessible campsite. In 2008, the OA constructed our awesome Eagles Nest Program Area. 2009 brought the completion of a huge dining pavilion and 54 new tables with benches. 2010 added a fireplace to the pavilion. In 2011 new roofing was made to several of the buildings, more staff cabins built & several permanent shelters have dotted the campsites & program areas. Other projects are planned for future years. If you have not been to CFL in a number of years you will be amazed at the many improvements to the facilities. |
